On behalf of the ORC,
belated Happy New Year.
May 2008 be a great and properous
year for you. And may it also be a
good year for the ORC and bring us lots of
new and active members. The more
active members we have, the more we can do
as a club. So spread the word to
fellow runners, and also let the Board know
your ideas and suggestions for ORC events in
2008.

e-Letter Editor to post a
neighborhood run. We'll post your run
or that you are looking for a running
partner in the next newsletter. Be sure
to include the day/time of your run,
location, distance, and a way to contact
you.

ORC Road Trip - Gasparilla |
|
The ORC is organizing a road trip to Tampa
for Gasparilla Distance Classic Race
Weekend. Events include a 5K and
15K on Saturday, February 9,
and a marathon, half marathon and marathon
relay on Sunday, February 10.

Runners will be responsible for registering
for events; the ORC will coordinate
transportation and lodging.

IOA Corporate 5K Volunteers
|
Mark your calendars for the
Corporate IOA 5K to be held on
Thursday, April 24.
The ORC needs to provide 75
volunteers to work registration,
start/finish line and water stop at
this event. In exchange for our
efforts, the ORC Scholarship
fund is a beneficiary of
the race. Stadium volunteers
will need to report for duty at 5
pm; water stop volunteers can report
directly to the water stop by 5:30
pm.
Bring your friends and
family, volunteer, then stay
and enjoy the post-race
party. To volunteer or for

ORC Apparel Now Available |
The ORC is happy to announce that we now
have ORC shirts available for sale to
our members. Shirts are available in
men's and women's cuts in sizes ranging
from small to XL. All shirts are $15
and will be delivered upon receipt of
your order. Shirts are made from a
technical fabric from Sports Science and
have the ORC logo fusion printed on the

ORC Runners to Visit Japan
|
|
Each year as part of our
Sister City "Cultural/Running Exchange"
Program with Urayasu, Japan,
four ORC members are chosen to represent
Orlando. They will travel to Japan
and compete in the Urayasu Tokyo Bay Half
Marathon on February 3rd. The
ORC members traveling to Japan for 2008 are:

Attention
Guys and Ladies
|
The Lady Track Shack 5K Run/Walk will
be held on Sunday, February 10, at
Mead Garden in Winter Park. Proceeds
from this event benefit the Florida
Hospital Track Shack Cancer Screening
Program. Ladies of all ages are
encouraged to sign up for this fun
event.
Although the Lady Track Shack is a
women's only event, guys can still
participate!
The race needs 60 volunteers
to make this event happen. Volunteer duties
include pre-registration support, water stop
staff, course timers, course monitors, and
finish line support. Please contact
