If you are an ORC member looking
to schedule a run or find a
running partner in your area,
send a note to the
e-Letter Editor to post or
find a neighborhood run. We'll
publish your scheduled run in
the next newsletter, or post a
notice that you are looking for
a running partner. Be sure to
include the day/time of your
run, location, distance and a
way to contact you.

Volunteers Need for Outback Race |
The Outback Distance Classic 12K
is coming up on
Saturday,
February 24. The ORC
needs 125
volunteers to work
registration, finish line and course
monitor positions. All volunteers
will receive an ORC volunteer
t-shirt, and Outback race shirt, and
meal/ beverage tickets for the
post-race party at Lake Eola. The
ORC receives a portion of the
proceeds from this event, which are
used to fund the
Charles M. Rowson Scholarship Fund.
If you or any of your family members, neighbors, friends or co-workers
are interested in helping the ORC

Last Call for Relay Runners |
The Inaugural Sunrise to
Sunset Relay
(website) will start from
Jensen Beach on April 13, 2007
and end 165 miles later in Ft.
Myers on April 14, 2007. Teams
of 12 will compete in this
event, with each member running
three legs of 4-7 miles each.
The American Cancer Society is
the beneficiary of this year's
event.
The ORC has fielded one team for
this event, but you can still
join us. If you would like to
participate, please complete the
ORC registration form
and submit your entrance fee
to the ORC. We will register
additional teams and forward
individual race registration
forms to each team member.
Registration deadline is Feb 20.

Disney Running - Photos Wanted |
Check out the
DisneyRunning.com website. It's
an unofficial website dedicated to
running at Walt Disney World
including the Walt Disney World
Marathon, Walt Disney World Half
Marathon, Goofy's Race and a Half
Challenge, Minnie Marathon(Women Run
the World 15K), and Race for the
Taste 10K. It contains information
about reports, photos, results,
reviews, spectator viewing, course
maps, running and jogging trails &
maps at Walt Disney World and the
new Disneyland Half Marathon.

Ave, Orlando, for a 5K
Prediction Run. Prizes are
tickets to the Orlando Magic
vs New Jersey Mets. Dinner
after the run at Moes (next
to parking lot).

- 3rd Tuesday Monthly Group
Run - Meet at Ken's house
(1387 Spruce Court, Winter
Springs) for a 3.1 or 4.3
mile neighborhood loop, and
then drive over to Tijuana
Flats in the Winter Springs
Town Center at SR 434 and
Tuskawilla Road.

the Outback Distance
Classic.

ORC
Runners in Japan |
|
Each year four
select Orlando Runners Club members
are chosen to represent Orlando as
part of our Sister City
"Cultural/Running Exchange" Program
with Urayasu, Japan. The four chosen
members travel to compete in the
Urayasu Tokyo Bay Half Marathon
in February and in return the
Urayasu Runners Club sends four
select runners to participate in the
OUC Half Marathon in early December.

The trip is
usually for six (6) days (including
travel) with hotel and airfare
included for each chosen
representative. All other expenses
are the representative's
responsibility. Additional friends
and family may attend at their
expense.
The Orlando
Runners Club members are chosen
using the following criteria:

of the club for at least 1
year

involvement

Challenge Standings
(participation not wins)

Road Runners Club of America |

The
Road Runners Club of America is the
national association of running
clubs, running events, and runners
dedicated to promoting long distance
running as a competitive sport and
as healthful exercise. RRCA's
mission is to represent and promote
the common interest of its member
clubs, events, and individual
runners through education,
leadership, programs and other
services. The Orlando Runners Club
is a member club of the RRCA. For

The 50th Annual RRCA
National Convention, will be
held in Chicago, IL March 21
through 25, 2007. One of the
events will be the RRCA State
Rep Silent Auction with the net
proceeds benefitting the State
Rep Program.
The State Reps are soliciting
donations from their club
members and club sponsors, as
well as local businesses and
organizations in their states.
Items can be representative of
our state, a special
event, or as generic as running
gear, books, memorabilia, etc.
As donations are received, they
will be posted on the convention
website.
Contributors should complete a
donation form, then submit
