This is your Member E-Letter explaining what is currently happenning with the Orlando Runners Club as well as running news, social events, races, and "happenings" in Florida.  Please forward this on to anyone that you think would be interested in joining the Orlando Runners Club.

If you are an ORC member looking to schedule a run or find a running partner in your area, send a note to the e-Letter Editor  to post or find a neighborhood run.   We'll publish your scheduled run in the next newsletter, or post a notice that you are looking for a running partner.  Be sure to include the day/time of your run, location, distance and a way to contact you.
 
Regular runs are also posted on the Training Partners page of the website.
ORC Track Shack Group Runs
  Track Shack
The ORC Track Shack Group Runs are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month.  The first Tuesday run starts from O'Boys BBQ in Winter Park at 7pm.  The 3rd Tuesday run will rotate to different venues around Orlando.  If you'd like to help coordinate a Tuesday run in your area, please contact Amy at amyt262@yahoo.com.  Watch the Upcoming Events section or the Calendar for details each month.
The third Tuesday group run in April will meet at Mills Market on Mills and Gore on April 17 at 7pm.  Enjoy a 5K fun run through downtown Orlando and around 5 lakes.  If you want an additional 5K, meet Paul at 6:30pm sharp and run with him while he sets up the course.

ORC Challenge Series Update - Due to a conflict with the Run for the Trees 5K and the Habitat for Humanity 5K on May 12, the Run for the Trees will not be a Challenge Series event this year.

April 19 -

May 5 -
Go Red for Women 5K - Disney

May 6 -
Women Run the World 15K - Disney

Please mark your calendars for the following ORC running and social events:
  • April 17  - 3rd Tuesday Group Run - Meet at 7:00 pm at Mills Market at Mills and Gore, downtown Orlando.
     
  • May 1 - 1st Tuesday Group Run - Meet at 7:00 pm at O'Boy's BBQ, 565 W. Fairbanks Ave, Winter Park.
     
  • May 9 - Post Cinco de Mayo Group Run, TBD
     
  • May 10 - ORC Board Meeting at 7:00 pm at Chamberlin's in Winter Park.
     
  • May 15 - 3rd Tuesday Group Run - TBD.
     
  • May 16 - ORC President's Reception at the home of Mike & Susan Zwer.  More details TBD.

The West Orange Habitat for Humanity 5K

Habitat 2007

Mark your calendar to participate in West Orange Habitat for Humanity 5K, Jack Fain Memorial Race on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 8:00 am in Oakland, FL.  

The beautiful layout contains small hills and passes across the West Orange Trail, twice.  It is a tree lined scenic route that starts at the First Presbyterian Church of Oakland, 218 E. Oakland Ave., Oakland, FL 34760 (just west of Winter Garden).  Look for the directional signs.

Trophies will be given to the top three male and female runners overall, and medals will be given to the top three in each age group. Refreshments will be provided after the race, with T-shirts given to all participants.  There will be a prize drawing open to all participants where local vendors are donating the prizes. 

Entry fee for all participants is $15.00 through May 5th; then $20.00 through race day.

Come join us for a great race for a good cause.
