Dear Runner,
This is your E-Letter explaining what is currently
happening with the Orlando Runners Club as well as
running news, social events, races and 'happenings' in
Florida. Please forward this on to anyone that you think
would be interested in the Orlando Runners Club.

ORC Scholarship Application |

The ORC Scholarship application deadline is
June 1. If you have a son or daughter that is a
local track athlete and college bound, or know
someone who does, visit the
ORC Scholarship page for more information
and to download an application form.

Out of Town Races |
|
|
|
Several members of the ORC are part of a
group of seventeen runners from Orlando who are
heading to Deadwood, SD, in early June to
participate in a Trail Marathon/Half Marathon.
The Marathon is June 4. It will be beautiful
(maybe snow) and cool running thru the sacred
land of the Lakota Sioux and finish in an
historic city of Deadwood. Mount Rushmore is an
hour away.

If you are an ORC member doing a marathon, half
marathon, or a special "out of town" race in
2006, please let us know. We would like to

benefiting the West Orange Habitat for Humanity.
The ORC is actively involved in promoting and
providing volunteers for this race, and all
ORC'ers are invited to run.

ORC will be in attendance. If you are a member

- Monthly Group Run - 1st Tuesday of each
month - Next Run is June 6th at 7:00 pm at
O'Boys BBQ, 565 W. Fairbanks Ave in Winter
Park.
- Monthly ORC Board Meeting - 2nd Tuesday
of each month - Next Board Meeting is May
9th at 6:30 PM at Blanchard Park (one-mile
north of East Colonial Drive on Dean Road).
- ORC 30th Anniversary 5K Run - June 11,
2006, at 7:30 am at Blanchard Park on Dean

ORC Celebrates 30 Years of Running
|
|
|
The Orlando Runners Club celebrates 30 years of
running this month. The ORC was first
incorporated in May 1976. To commemorate the
event, we will be holding a 30th Anniversary 5K
race on June 11 at Blanchard Park at 7:30 a.m.
Location: Jay Blanchard Park on Dean Road (1
mile north of East SR 50/Colonial Drive)
The course will run through the park.
Trophies will be given to the top three male and
female runners in each age group, and the top
male and female race walker in each age group.
Special Anniversary tank shirts will be given to
all paid entrants.
Mark your calendars to participate in this
special event. More details will be coming soon.
