Orlando's Sister City Urayasu, Japan |

A team of youth baseball players from Urayasu
will be traveling to Orlando this weekend play
baseball and enjoy our hospitality. The City of
Urayasu organized this special project to
celebrate the 25th anniversary of the city's
incorporation. They have selected youth baseball
players (11-12 yrs) to play against an Orlando
youth baseball team.
The games will be held on Friday, July 28th, at
Blue Jacket Park, 2501 General Rees Ave,
Orlando, at 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, July 29th,
at Trotter’s Park Field, 2701 Lee Rd, Orlando,
at 6:00 p.m.
Come out and support the Sister City Program and
enjoy a game of youth baseball.

Disney Marathon Florida's Finest Team |

Time once again for the search and selection
of the January 7, 2007, Disney Marathon
Florida's Finest Team. Disney wants to include
runners from all around the state and asked us
to make sure our club members are aware it is
time to check out this great opportunity.
Why just run when you can fly! Kick up a little
pixie dust of your own on January 7, 2007 at the
Walt Disney® Marathon! The marathon race
committee will select Florida residents to
compete in the race as part of the Florida¹s
Finest Team.
To be considered, athletes must be Florida
residents and submit the following by September
30, 2006: (1) Running resume, which includes as
manyapplicant contacts as possible: home
address, work & home phone numbers, fax number,
and email address; (2) Birth date, and age on
race day (January 7, 2007); (3) Running career
highlights; (4) Marathon(s) completed from 2003
thru 2006 (please include race name, date &
finish time); (5) Lifetime PRs at various
distances. Include race name and date of each
PR. (6) PRs from 2003 - 2006 IF different from
lifetime PRs at various distances. Include race
name and date of each PR. (7) If applicable,
master PRs. Include race name and date of each

ORC Annual Awards Banquet
|
|
|
The Annual ORC Awards Banquet was held on
Saturday, July 22, 2006, at the Orlando Elk's
Lodge. Everyone who attended had a good time.
Many thanks to Michele Brackett and Theresa
Harter-Miles for organizing the event. Special
thanks to Judy Kennedy for all her efforts in
getting some great raffle prizes, and thanks to
the other members who also donated or helped get
rafffle prizes.
