Message from the President

Message from the President Michele Brackett:

As I end my second term and start yet another term as president, I wish to offer a sincere Thank You to the 2008 - 2009 Officers and Board of Directors.  It is because of their help and support that I have been able to continue to serve the Club as President. As a volunteer Board, you have expended tremendous effort in keeping our club "running".

As we look back on the past year, we have many accomplishments to be proud of - continued growth for the Tuesday group runs, the Sunday long runs (thanks to Jack Gallagher), and the addition of the Thursday group runs; volunteering at the Disney Marathon, the IOA Corp 5K, and Habitat for Humanity races;  another record turn out of over 375 runners at our annual ORC Race Into Summer 5K, and a great post-race party at Mellow Mushroom, increasing membership, and a web site and e-letter to keep everyone informed about the Club and local running events.

I would also like to thank all the members who have supported the Club throughout the year.  It's great to see you at all the various Club events, and we also appreciate your help when volunteers are needed.  It is only through the hard work and dedication of our Board and members that we are able to continue to be an integral part of the Central Florida running community.

My gratitude and appreciation to you all.  And I look foward to another great year for the ORC!

Michele
