currently happening with the Orlando Runners Club as
well as running news, social events, races and
'happenings' in Florida. Please forward this on to

Join Paul for a 5K group run on Thursday in
downtown Orlando. Meet at Mills Market on
the corner of Mills and Gore at 7pm. Contact

Ken runs Mon, Tues, Wed, & Fri at around
8:30 am in The Highlands, Winter Springs
(lots of shade). Contact Ken at dobmeier@yahoo.com.
Joe runs every Tuesday and Thursday morning
at 6:00 AM in Sweetwater/Sabal Point
neighborhoods. Typically 5-7 runners at
approx. 9 minute pace. Typical runs are 4 ½
to 5 1/2 miles with goal of finishing by 7

Christine runs Tuesday and Thursday mornings
at 5:30 a.m. at Crane's Roost park behind
the Altamonte Mall, usually 3-4 miles at
about a 10 min. pace. Contact Christine at

Third Tuesday Run Run Reminder |
|
|
|
Come join the Orlando Runners Club for a
Group Run in downtown Orlando. We
will meet at Mills Market on Mills
and Gore on Tuesday, October 17th at
7:00 p.m. for a scenic 5K run through
the heart of downtown Orlando. The 3.1 mile
loop will take runners past beautiful lakes,
tall buildings, and gorgeous greenery. After
the run, club members can enjoy great food
at Mills Market. It is sure be to a fun

Wanted - Volunteers for the Disney Marathon |
|
|
|
Each year the ORC volunteers at the water
stop at Mile 24 of the Disney Marathon. As a
volunteer, you will receive a windbreaker,
food and beverage, and a one-day theme park
ticket. This a big volunteer effort and we
still need 10 volunteers to make our team of
40 volunteers. For those of you who are long
distance runners, you know the importance of
the water stops, especially near the end of
the race. So if you aren't running Disney,
then help the ORC support those who are
running.
The Marathon is scheduled for Sunday,
January 7, 2007. If you are interested in
volunteering, please contact Judy Kennedy by

All volunteers must register online and then
turn your waiver form in to Judy by October
31st. The registration instructions and the
waiver form can be found on the ORC website.

Halloween Fun Run - It's Baaack!
|
|
|
Back by popular demand. Another ORC
tradition. It’s the Annual Halloween Fun
Run.
This year’s fun run will be held in
College Park (northwest of downtown
Orlando) on Tuesday, October 24 at
6:30pm. We will be meeting at the world
famous Alfonso’s Pizza restaurant
(located at 3231 Edgewater Drive, across the
street from Edgewater High School; their
phone number is 407-872-7324).
This run will be a fun group run, with a
scavenger hunt and prizes for runners in
costume. Note, the run will continue after
sunset so dress appropriately and safe.
If you plan to participate or wish to
attend this ORC event, please send Mikko (mjhrun@msn.com)
an email by October 20 so that he provide
the restaurant with a headcount. For more
