If you are an ORC member looking to schedule a run or find a running partner in your area, send a note to the e-Letter Editor  to post a neighborhood run.   We'll post your run or that you are looking for a running partner in the next newsletter.  Be sure to include the day/time of your run, location, distance, and a way to contact you.

Mark is looking for a running partner who has a 8:00 min. or better per mile pace for 3 to 5 mile runs, 3 times per week (M-W-F).  He normally begins his runs between 9 and 10 A.M.  He lives  in the Wedgefield subdivison (off of SR 520, just west of Christmas) and would be willing to travel within a 5 mile radius of that location. Please contact Mark at

Regular runs are also posted on the Training Partners page of the website.
Halloween Fun Run

Halloween Fun Run 2007
On Wednesday, October 24, the ORC met in the Baldwin Park neighborhood for our annual Halloween Fun Run.  Many runners ventured out despite the threatening weather, some even in costume, for a fun run and scavenger hunt.  After the rain-free run, the ORC provided food and drinks for everyone at Groupers and More.  Congratulations to the winning team - John Van V, Vicki Bishop, Lisa T and Dave Berry

Many thanks to Mikko Huttunen for coordinating this very fun event.
Wanted Disney Marathon Runners
Are you an ORC member who is planning on running the Disney Half or Full Marathon?  If so, then Champion wants you.

Champion Institute Product Testing enlists runners to train and wear Champion Athleticwear during race events.  The selected runners are Brand Ambassadors for Champion in that they wear Champion-branded products in the race events along with a decal on their sleeve or chest for easy identification.

The purpose of Brand Ambassadors is two-fold:
  1. to test product and receive feedback from "real runners" - Champion needs to know how its products perform on an on-going basis
  2. to showcase Champion-branded product at race events increasing our brand awareness/consumer awareness

How it works:

  1. Champion needs men and women running in the January 2008 Disney Half marathon event and Full marathon event
  2. Selected runners must be interested in wearing Champion in race event and willing to give feedback on product to qualify
  3. Selected runners will supply name, address, sizes
  4. Champion will drop-ship gratis performance product to selected runners for training
  5. Selected runners will train up until race event in Champion athleticwear and will submit feedback around mid-December on apparel fit, performance, likes, dislikes, possible improvements, positive comments, etc.
  6. Selected runners will sign release stating they will wear Champion-branded apparel during race event and decal
  7. All product is gratis
If you are an ORC member and interested in being a "Brand Ambassador", please send your name, address, phone, and sizes by Friday, Nov. 16th, to Michele Brackett at mtb40@aol.com.
