Urayasu Runners Are Coming to Orlando! The
ORC is very excited to welcome our guest runners and
friends from Urayasu, Japan. As part of the
cultural exchange program between the cities of
Orlando and Urayasu, four runners are coming to
Orlando to run in the OUC half marathon. The ORC
then sends four runners to Urayasu for the half
marathon in February.
Please help us welcome: Mr. Noriyoshi FURUSHIMA
and his wife Naoko; Ms. Kyoko YAMADA; Mr. Koichi
KAKIMOTO, his wife Misako and daughter Anna; and Ms.
Akiko YAGI.

3:35 pm - Guest runners arrive at the Orlando
airport.
Runners will be staying at the Embassy Suites in
Altamonte Springs.
7:00 pm - Join us in the hotel lobby for a
welcome reception and to finalize itineraries for
the week. We will go as a group to a nearby
restaurant for dinner afterwards.

Tour at 9:00 am, Expo at 10:30

9:00 am - Meet at City Hall for a tour.
10:30 am - Pick up race packets and visit the
race expo at Florida Citrus Sports.
Open day for sightseeing and shopping in the Orlando
area. Possible visits include Disney or Universal
theme parks, Ice at the Gaylord Palms, outlet malls,
and other area attractions.
7:00 pm - Join the ORC and our guests from
Japan for a pasta dinner. We will meet at a Buca di
Beppo in Maitland at 7pm for food and fun, to "carb
load" before the OUC half marathon. All ORC members
and their guests are welcome; separate checks will
be arranged for each table. Please email
Paul Yacobellis if you plan to attend so we can
make appropriate reservations.

7:30 am - OUC Half Marathon and post-race
party. Meet before and after the race at the ORC
tent at Lake Eola Park, Downtown Orlando.
1:00 pm - Japanese guests picked up at their
hotel by home stays.
Rest and relax at home stays for the afternoon.
Shopping and other activities with individual home
stays or in small groups.
7:00 pm - ORC Annual Christmas Holiday
Party. Bring your favorite dish to share. Meats and
drinks are provided by the club, plus we'll have all
the delicious surprise dishes from your fellow
runners.
We will also have a gift exchange. If you would like
to participate in the gift exchange, bring a small,
inexpensive ($5-$10) gift suitable for a male or a
female.
Join us at Vicki's house, 1401 Westchester Avenue
at the corner of Orange and Westchester in Winter
Park.
Directions: Exit I-4 on Fairbanks, take it
east ot 17-92, go right (south) to Orange Ave, take
a right on Orange (west), and take a left into the
office parking lot immediately on your left. Park on
the far west end. Westchester borders the far end of
the parking lot and crosses Orange there. House is
on the northeast corner across Orange. |

9:00 am - Meet at
DeLeon Springs State Park near Deland for a
pancake breakfast at the Old Spanish Sugar Mill
Restaurant. Stay and tour the park, or take a swim
in the 72 degree water.
11:00 am - After breakfast, we will visit
Blue Spring State Park west of Orange City
to experience Florida wildlife and view the manatees
that have come back for the winter.
Sunday evening open for dinner and visits with home
stays and club members. |

Open day for sightseeing and shopping in the Orlando
area. Visit Universal and/or Disney theme parks. Day
hosts are needed to accompany our Japanese guests

Monday evening open for dinner and visits with home
stays and club members.
On Tuesday, December 5 at 6:25 am, our Japanese
guests depart from the Orlando airport to return to
Japan. |
