ORC Race Into Summer 5K - Update

Congratulations to all who completed the 3rd annual ORC Race into Summer 5K on June 14 at Jay Blanchard Park in Orlando.  We had a record turnout with over 300 participants.

The Race into Summer was born in 2006 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Orlando Runners Club.  It is our non-profit Club's annual fundraising event and this year's record turnout will allow us to provide more benefits for our members throughout the coming year.  Plan to join us next June, at a new location, for the 4th annual run.

Top overall finishers were:

Female: Heather Schulz (19:08), Sarah Roberts (19:40), and Heather King (20:06)

Male: Nathan Adams (16:07), Christian Ducos (17:20), and J.P. Royston (17:22).

ORC Board Positions

Do you want to be more involved in your local running club?  Do you have some great ideas of events the club should participate in?  Then now is your opportunity to let others know what you want for your club.

The Orlando Runners Club is now accepting nominations for the Board of Directors and Officers to serve for the 2008 - 2009 term.  One of the open positions is for Treasurer.  Are you good in math?  Do you have experience using QuickBooks?  If so, please consider volunteering for this position.

Elections will be held in July, and newly elected Board members will be introduced at the Awards Banquet. The new Board goes into effect with the August Board meeting for a one year term.  To nominate someone or volunteer for a Board position, please send an email to president@orlandorunnersclub.org.

ORC Track Shack Group Runs

ORC Track Shack Group Runs are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month.  The first Tuesday run starts from O'Boys BBQ in Winter Park at 7pm.  The 3rd Tuesday run will rotate to different venues around Orlando.

Volunteers are needed to host third Tuesday runs throughout Orlando.  If you'd like to help coordinate a Tuesday run in your area, please contact Michele by email.  Watch the Upcoming Events section or the Calendar for details each month.
