Urayasu Week Itinerary
Final arrangements are still being worked out, so dates/times are subject to change.

Wednesday, November 30
2:46 pm - Guest runners arrive at the Orlando airport. ORC members greet runners and transport them to the hotel. If you plan to meet at the airport, please email Tom.
Runners will be staying at the Sheraton Downtown Orlando, 400 West Livingston Street.

6:30 pm - Welcome Dinner at Anthony's (corner of Summerlin and Washington in Thornton Park) and review and finalization of the itinerary for the week. Please email Dave if you plan to attend so we can make appropriate reservations.  The club will provide pizzas; drinks are on your own.

Thursday, December 1
7:15 am - ORC 5K run. Meet at 7:15 am at hotel lobby for a 5K run around downtown Orlando.  Look for Tom Ward to lead the run.

9:30 am - Meet in the hotel lobby to pick up Japanese guests for a day at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

7:00 pm – Dinner – TBD.  May be near Disney or near Downtown Orlando/Winter Park/College Park.  Please email Michele if you plan to attend.

Friday, December 2 (times subject to change)
9:00 am - Meet at hotel lobby to pick up Japanese guests for the day's events

9:00 – Tom to pick up Japanese guests for race course tour and return to hotel.

11:00 - Pick up guests from hotel and drive to City Hall.

11:30 am – Visit at City Hall with Commissioner Stuart.

12:30 pm - Lunch in Downtown Orlando. 

2:00 pm - Meet at Track Shack for packet pick-up, then shopping and local sightseeing. 

6:30 pm - Join the ORC and our guests from Japan for a pre-race dinner. We will meet at PF Chang’s (436 N. Orlando Ave) in Winter Park Village at 6:30 pm for food and fun before the OUC half marathon.  All ORC members and their guests are welcome to attend, but are responsible for their own meals. Please email Cheryl if you plan to attend so we can make appropriate reservations. .

Saturday, December 3
6:30 am – Meet at ORC tent at Lake Eola Park, Downtown Orlando, to welcome Japanese runners.
6:50 am – Approximate time Race Announcer will introduce our friends from Urayasu.
7:00 am - Half Marathon start - OUC Half Marathon and post-race party.  Meet after race at ORC tent.

1:00 pm - Japanese guests picked up at their hotel by home stays. Rest and relax at home stays for the afternoon. Shopping and other activities with individual home stays or in small groups.

6:30 pm - ORC Annual Christmas Holiday Party.
Bring your favorite dish to share. Meats and drinks are provided by the club, plus we'll have all the delicious surprise dishes from your fellow runners. Please email Michele if you plan to attend.

Join us at Geanette Moore’s house, 7908 Dunstable Circle, Orlando, 32817.  (The house is located near the corner of Aloma and Howell Branch/Hall Rd.)

Sunday, December 4
Sunday is open for the homestays and their guests to do some sightseeing. ORC members are welcome to join them. Possible destinations include Islands of Adventure at Universal or other local attractions. Events for Sunday as well as plans for a farewell dinner will be finalized at the Christmas party. 

Monday, December 5
On Monday, December 5, the homestays will take our Japanese guests to the Orlando airport for their return trip to Japan. They must arrive at the airport at 4:30 am.
