Club Contests

Challenge Series

Each running season, the club offers a challenge to members to run a selected set of 14 to 17 races. The rules of the challenge are simple. All members are automatically entered and scored.

  • Must be a current member of the ORC.

  • Run the designated minimum number of races (4).

Points are awarded based on how you finish in your age group among other ORC members. Points are awarded 10 deep in each age group.Challenge Series results will be scored on races only, and you must run 4 races to be eligible. While the ORC still needs your help as volunteers at the Corporate 5K in April, and the OUC Orlando Half Marathon in December, no volunteer points will be given towards the Challenge Series. Winners are recognized at the annual banquet in late summer.

Race to Win

The Race To Win challenge rewards runners not for finishing first, just for finishing. Anyone can win, whether you are first or last, as long as you are an ORC member and make it to the finish line. Each mile of racing earns a point, and at the end of the year (July 1 - June 30) we will recognize the top male and female with the most points and the most total events. Races and points are not recorded automatically. Each participant is responsible for timely reporting his or her own races to the Race to Win Scorekeeper (chrisalianiello@gmail.com) within 30 days of the race. Grace period for reporting all July and August races is September 30th. Submissions should include the runner's name and the name, date, and distance of the race completed.
